How much will I need?
The following are some guidelines you can follow for ensuring you have adequate quantities for your party.
Keep in mind the age of your guests and the type of event when planning what you'll need.

Guest preferences or a theme to a party may affect the types of spirits purchase. What follows is a basic guide for making
spirit purchases:
- 30% Canadian Whisky
- 20% Vodka
- 10% Gin (more popular in summer)
- 20% Rum
- 10% Scotch
- 10% Liqueurs
Extra fruit juices and soft drinks for designated drivers and non-drinkers should be included on your shopping list.
Safe Driver Drinks
Here are some alcohol-free drink favorites that you can serve at your next get-together.
Cranberry Cider
Mix equal parts of cranberry juice and apple cider. Heat through. Serve in mug with cinnamon sticks
Scarlet Sipper
- 2 cups cranberry-apple drink
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 14 oz. carbonated water
- Ice cubes
In a large pitcher, stir together the cranberry-apple drink, orange juice, and lemon juice.
Holding the pitcher at an angle, add the carbonated water. Serve in wineglasses. Makes 4 x 8 oz. servings.
Mock Margaritas
- 6 oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 6 oz. can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
- 3 egg whites
- 3 cups water
- Club soda
- Lime juice
- Coarse salt
- Lime slices
In a bowl, stir together lemonade and limeade concentrates, egg whites and water. Transfer to freezer container, cover and
freeze 6 hours or overnight, stirring after 2 hours. Remove from freezer 30 minutes before serving. Dip the rims of eight
margarita glasses in lime juice, then coarse salt. Spoon 2/3 cup frozen mixture in each glass. Fill with club soda.
Garnish with lime slices, and serve. Makes 8 - 6oz. servings.
Pineapple Punch
- 2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 3 cups sparkling apple juice, chilled
- 1 oz. can ginger ale, chilled.
Combine all ingredients in a chilled 2 quart pitcher. Serve over ice. Makes 8 - 6 oz. servings.
