1) Online (using the internet)

The Online training is designed to be taken entirely over the Internet. It is an alternative method of delivery to the DVD/Workbook program. This method of training has been developed to satisfy the growing need for ease, flexibility and convenience.

2) Training Kit and Certification Kit (also available in French)

The DVD/Workbook based program is suitable for individuals and group training. This method of delivery allows you to customize the training to suit your particular environment, and allow the opportunity for group discussion.

Both formats of training consist of three modules and Appendix.

Module 1: Alcohol and the Law
Module 2: The Effects of Alcohol
Module 3: Maintaining a Safe and Enjoyable Atmosphere

The Delivery Process

  • DVD and text work together to provide information and knowledge on responsible service of alcohol.
  • Throughout the Program there are exercises to reinforce the information.
  • The text is designed to be supported by the DVD
  • In each module you have the opportunity to complete the exercises and activities related to the topic of that module.
  • Training time lasts approximately 2-3 hours depending on the trainee's pace.
  • Training does not have to take place in one session
  • At the conclusion of the Program a test consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions is completed.
  • A minimum score of 80% is required to pass.
  • Successful candidates receive a wallet size certificate and lapel pin.
  • Scores below 80% are permitted one re-take test.
  • It is recommended that the training material be reviewed prior to retaking the test.

THE TWO PROGRAMS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE

If you register for the Online training you must complete the entire program online.

If you choose the DVD/Workbook method you must write the paper test.
